Description

Surface and ground water drainage networks, trunk mains and an attenuation tank in the Al Azizia area of the city of Doha, Qatar. A total open cut pipe length of 44.5 km and 4.0 km of Microtunneling

The works compromised:

• 15.0 km road surface drainage and vitrified clay (VC) gully connections average depth 1.5m
• 15.4 km perforated VC land drains, average depth 4.0 – 4.5 m
• 10.8 km solid VC drains, depth 4.0 - 4.5 m
• 3.3 km reinforced concrete (RC) pipes diameter 800 - 1200 mm at depths between 3.5- 8.0 m
• Manholes: 372 Nr
• Road gullies: 1074 Nr
• Microtunneling - 2.3 km RC GRP lined surface drainage diameter 1.0 - 1.4 m, depth 8 - 13 m
• Microtunneling - 1.7 km RC GRP lined surface drainage diameter 2.0 m, average depth 20 m
• 23 Nr. 7 x 5 m RC tunnel access shafts
• 1 Nr 21,000 m3 (60 x 28 x 11 m) RC storm water attenuation tank
