Objective

The purpose of this project is to reduce and eliminate flooding at a number of Hot spot locations across Doha municipality. Draft conceptual designs have been established by PWA utilising a combination of standard and novel methods to collect and manage surface water run-off. The basic concept behind the design has been attenuation at origin, taking advantage of the favoruble conditions the country offers for evaporation and surface infiltration, and minimizing the contribution to downstream Surface and Ground Water System.

Brief description of the works

The general scope of work for design and construction of the Surface Water Drainage system includes, but not limited to:

• Survey and Design the drainage works
• Construction of Surface water network
• Construction of Perforated pipe with gravel trench
• Construction of Swales
• Construction of surface storage covered (concrete) channels
• Supply and Installation of Geo-cells
